Take one of these short, online parenting courses to solve common parenting challenges:
- Kids won’t listen to a thing you say and pushing the limits all the time?
- Constantly squabbling and fighting with each other?
- New sibling arriving soon? Your child hitting/biting?
- Are sleep issues causing strife in your household?
- Having trouble with transitions and short separations?
- What about “tween” troubles?
You can get help, immediately, without even leaving home! I regularly recommend these courses to the parents I work with. They are packed with useful, practical information, and explain how Hand in Hand Parenting applies to areas of common difficulty for parents. You will get fresh perspectives and practical tools to solve common parenting challenges, and help get more closeness and fun into your relationship with your children.
Cost: These courses are great value for money (most cost approx AU$56 – US$39 – at the moment). They will give you the important aspect of the Hand in Hand approach, and outline the Listening Tools as they apply to the particular challenge you face – whether it is getting your two year old to sleep, or getting your 12 year old to talk!
Add in-person support: Get help applying this in your family. Many parents also find it helpful to complement these courses with a parenting consultation. Madeleine can help you develop and implement a plan tailored to the specific circumstances in your family.

In the long run, these will dissolve tensions between siblings, reduce your stress levels and build closeness, co-operation, respect and understanding. Helping Children Sleep: Hand in Hand Parenting offers effective and supportive ways to “put sleep issues to bed” and resolve the emotional tensions which make bedtime difficult and wake children at night. Children experience sleep as separation, and to help them, you will need to build and repair a strong sense of connection with you. Children need your help to get through the difficult emotions which wake them at night, and you will need ways to set loving, firm limits to resolve sleep issues. You will get new understandings of your child’s sleep anxieties, and get 5 concrete “parent-tested” steps you can take to achieve a relaxed sleep for everyone. Learn more and register
Raising Happier Tweens: As you approach the teen years, things begin to change. But you can stay close and connected to your child as they grow older. Building a Listening Partnership – Reducing the Stress of Parenting: As parents doing the world’s most complex work, we need places where we can work through our parenting challenges, reflect on our experiences, “download” the strong feelings we often have about parenting and about our children and make plans for our family. Listening Partnerships are at the foundation of the Hand in Hand approach, and are a way that you can build ongoing support for yourself as a parent. This self-guided online course provides a step-by-step guide to the process of beginning and developing a Listening Partnership – the regular exchange of listening time between parents. It covers:
- why things get hard for parents;
- how parents can help one another recover from emotional hurt
- guidance on offloading tension caused by grief, anger, guilt, frustration, fear, exhaustion, and much more.
This course is delivered by online classroom, but in addition you are invited to join an online group of other parents who have taken or are taking the course, in order to share your learnings, and find Listening Partners. This course costs approx $AUD108. Learn more and register
