WHAT IS THE PROFESSIONALS INTENSIVE?

Learn valuable new skills for supporting parents and children, consistent with the latest developmental neuroscience research. Join the eight-week intensive course in Parenting by Connection offered by Hand in Hand Parenting.

Parent-child connectedness is increasingly the focus of parenting programs. Parenting by Connection offers the “how to” – practical tools that parents and caregivers can use to strengthen and repair their relationships within and around their families. It shows parents how to build emotional safety with their children.  From that base, the approach puts limit setting in the centre as a key tool for connection and change.  We also offer parents practical, sustainable and affordable ways to get the emotional support they need in order to parent the way they really want to.  Parenting by Connection is an attachment based, relationship focussed, trauma informed approach to parenting. You can learn more here.

WHAT WILL I GET FROM THIS COURSE?

  • Expertise in the Parenting by Connection approach. You will practise the Listening Tools in your own family and in your professional practice.
  • Discussion of developmental theory and neuroscience research supporting Parenting by Connection, with a focus on practical and experiential application.
  • Guidance on using these practices both in your family and with your clients.
  • Opportunities to share your own experience.

HOW IS THE COURSE DELIVERED AND WHAT WILL IT INVOLVE?

The course is delivered by on-line classroom (open now) and small group conference calls involving a total weekly commitment of between 4-6 hours. This includes watching recorded classes (accessed at any time convenient to you) and joining a weekly call (of up to 2 hours duration) to discuss the class materials, readings & what you are learning from using the approach at home & at work.

HOW MUCH DOES THE COURSE COST?

The course costs $US747, which is approx. $AU 992.  If this is beyond your means due to the exchange rate you may be eligible for fee relief through the Hand in Hand scholarship programme HERE.  Please let them know that you have learned about the course via me.
