Navigating the Pre-Teen Years

Stay connected to your tween.

Staying connected to our preteens as they enter adolescence and become more independent may be challenging, but it’s as important as ever! Between 10 and 11 our children are starting an interesting, dynamic, complex and potentially hazardous journey, and they need us travelling alongside them. In this teleseminar, my colleague Julie Johnson (Berkely, CA, USA), and I outline:

  • the major brain changes which are ahead;
  • the challenges that pre-teens face;
  • the challenges we parents face as we front up to a new phase of parenting;
  • and the way that we can use Parenting by Connection Listening Tools to keep ourselves in good shape, and stay connected to our young people as they grow up.
